I was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1951. We moved to the south in 1953 and lived mostly in County Carlow. I went to school and trained as a nurse in Dublin. I married in 1974 and we immigrated to Australia December 1974 and have lived in Brisbane until 2010.

I have two children Rory in 1977 who lives in Christchurch NZ with his wife Zara and son Harry 2015 with a girl due in May this year. Fodhla born 1979 lives with me with hers 2 sons Alec 2000 and Joe 2005.

I joined Lions Club of Holland Park in 1991 having volunteered as a Marshall for the march at the international convention held in Brisbane. During my 19 years there I have President, Secretary and many other positions. I was Q1 District Chair for Youth Exchange for 3 years and Multiple District MD 201 Youth Exchange Program Chair for 7 years. My family and I moved to Bribie Island 2010 where I joined the lions club there. Last year a club chartered in my suburb Sandstone Point which I have transferred as a Charter member. It is very exciting being with a new club.

I still work night duty at the Mater Hospital in the obstetric emergency operating theatre and have been there for 10 years. I love my work but look forward to retirement in a few years’ time! My interests are obviously my family, Lions, gardening, cooking, my animals and my brother and family who live in Germany! Living beside the beach has been my lifelong dream, now all I need is the time to enjoy It!!!
